On December 3, 2021, Eric Trappier signed a contract to supply 80 Rafale F4 fighters to the United Arab Emirates Air Force. The signing ceremony was attended by French President Emmanuel Macron and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces. This historic contract, which is indicative of the longstanding strategic partnership between France and the United Arab Emirates, came into effect on April 19, 2022.
On 25 January 2021, Greece signed a contract for the purchase of 18 Rafales: 6 new aircraft and 12 released by the French Air and Space Force. The first 6 fighters were delivered just six months later. In March 2022, Greece moved to reinforce its fleet by ordering 6 additional new Rafales.
On February 10, 2022, Indonesia signed a two-phase contract for 42 Rafales: 6 fighters initially, followed by a further 36 in the second phase. The deal provides for delivery of a comprehensive solution, including training and logistical support. Indonesia is a first-time customer for Dassault Aviation and its second Rafale customer in the Indo-Pacific region.
